Learning and Development Instructor
The Dry-cleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) has been the premier international trade association for garment care professionals since 1883, representing over ten thousand retail dry cleaners in the United States alone. DLI is the industry voice located in Baltimore, MD. We will teach everything about cleaning and you will instruct students in our General Dry-cleaning courses and other courses in all phases of cleaning, finishing, fiber identification, spotting, maintenance of equipment and other areas. You will be responsible for the preparation of lesson plans and delivery. If you would love to teach, speak at seminars, state conventions and write for our publications, this job is made for you. Additionally, you'd get the added luxury of performing analysis on garments to determine a variety of dry cleaning complaints in our Textile Testing Laboratory, write reports of the findings from the analysis performed, and respond to technical correspondence and technical Hot Line calls. What else will you do?
- Prepare exams covering the content of the courses.
- Prepare and develops course material for use.
- Speak at state conventions and seminars when requested.
- Operate and maintain machinery and equipment in the practical training rooms.
- Grade all exam papers and maintains good relationship with students.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by Management.
Compensation: Approximately $40,000 annual Depending on Experience
