Director of Marketing and Communications

The Crocker Art Museum is seeking an experienced Director of Marketing and Communications to guide the professional marketing, communications, and graphic design team in achieving the Museum's goals during a period of great importance for the Museum.

A successful candidate for Director or Marketing and Communications should be highly skilled in all aspects of:

  • Strategic marketing
  • Media relations
  • Social media
  • Publishing
  • Advertising
  • Community and governmental relations
  • Audience development
  • Cultural tourism
  • Website development and management
  • Annual fiscal budgeting
  • Team building and staff management
  • Project administration and workflow

Other requirements include:

  • Minimum B.A./B.S. in marketing, journalism or communications.
  • Seven + years of professionally-managed public relations, marketing, and advertising experience in which creativity is demonstrated.
  • Five + years of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of print production methods and costs.
  • Experience in media relations.
  • Ability to define goals, meet urgent deadlines, organize and prioritize projects.
  • Ability to innovate and initiate.
  • Significant computer expertise; Microsoft Office Suite and design-related software.

This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits that will be negotiated, commensurate with experience.  Candidates must have flexibility to work evenings/weekends.
